The story so far...
After graduating with a 2.1 in Economics back in 1992, I spent a year living in Italy before stumbling into my journalism career. Luckily for me I landed a job as a sub editor for the UK's leading travel trade publication, Travel Weekly. This title kept me busy travelling for nine years - particularly as supplements editor when each year I could edit, write and produce up to 30 travel guides and marketing collateral for a variety of global tourist offices. My adventures continued courtesy of Conference & Incentive Travel magazine for which I worked for three years, two as editor.
In 2007 I relocated from London to Dubai where, on a freelance basis, I contributed to titles such as Gulf News' Friday magazine, Time Out, Arabian Travel News/Hotelier Middle East, Meet MiddleEast, Good Housekeeping Middle East and The Telegraph (UK).
From September 2012 to November 2013 I worked for the Middle East's biggest selling celebrity weekly magazine Ahlan! as Project Editor on its Hot 100 series and as Assistant Editor on JetSet, ITP's quarterly travel magazine, and sub editor on Ahlan! Qatar.
From November 2013 until June 2017 I worked as the Chief Editor at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism).
I am currently working as a freelance journalist and copy writer, primarily for Jumeirah hotels writing weekly columns for its Experience Jumeirah blog and contributing to its brand campaign content.
